Additionally, to manage the liability associated with renting the hall for event where alcohol is present, Post 247 requires the Renting Party to provide
Depending on the risk level of the event (solely as determined by Post 247 Rental Coordinator), the Renting Party may also be recommended, or required, to coordinate with and pay the Fauquier County Sheriff to have one deputy present for the duration of the party (excluding setup and cleanup) at any event where alcohol is served.
The Post 247 Rental Coordinator will request event specifics from the Renting Party to determine the relative risk level of each event. The lack of a recommendation from Post 247 to hire law enforcement does not prevent the Renting Party from hiring Fauquier County Sheriff’s deputies to monitor the event.
