American Legion Remington, Harold J. Davis Post 247

Call Us: 703-596-5964

Fellow Legionnaires,

July kicks off a new year of elected leadership at American Legion Post 247. I’m proud to serve again as your Commander, grateful for your trust and excited to work alongside the outstanding Legionnaires who make this post dedicated, capable, and always mission-ready.

Leadership isn’t about rank or titles, it’s about showing up, serving others, and staying committed. Every Legionnaire at Post 247 is a leader in that sense. Whether you’re organizing events, mentoring younger vets, or just lending a hand when someone needs it, you’re making a difference.

Our mission is simple: support veterans and serve our community. And we do it best when we work together.

I’m especially proud of the partnerships we’ve built with Auxiliary Unit 247, the Town of Remington, the Fauquier Mental Health Association, Wreaths Across America, and other veteran service organizations. These aren’t just logos on a flyer, they’re real, working relationships that help us expand our reach and impact.

Through our work with the Fauquier Mental Health Association and the VA-led Veterans Mental Health Task Force, we’re helping veterans access the support they need. With Wreaths Across America, we honor our fallen through meaningful ceremonies that remind our community of the service and sacrifice of those who have given their lives in service to our country. Thanks to our collaboration with the Town of Remington, Post 247’s presence in the community is stronger than ever.

These partnerships matter. And we’re not done building. We’ll keep growing these connections and looking for new ones because that’s how we grow our programs, strengthen our post, and reach more veterans.

As we look ahead, I urge every member to get involved. Join a committee, volunteer, or share your ideas. Your participation makes all the difference.

We’ve built something special at Post 247. Together, let’s set our sights higher, supporting veterans, growing our impact, and forging new paths of service. United in purpose, we can achieve even more for those who need us most. Let’s move forward, stronger, together.

Proud to serve with you,

James “Jay” Pinsky

Commander, American Legion Post 247
