Considerations when deciding to have alcohol at an event

Often, I receive questions from renters about the limitations of having alcoholic beverages present at an event. Some renters assume that if they choose to NOT obtain an ABC license, that guests will be ok if they just keep their alcohol in their vehicle and not bring it into the building. However, that is not a correct assumption. ABC requlations regarding alcoholic beverages covers the entire property of American Legion Post 247. If you choose to obtain an ABC license and the requisite event liability insurance, then yes, it is ok to consume alcohol inside or outside the facility, anywhere on the property. If you choose NOT to obtain an ABC license and the requisite event liability insurance, then alcohol is prohibited anywhere on the property, including inside and outside the building.
